Meet New Era Homes online, before you make the trip to Bend

One video call to understand what building in Central Oregon could look like for your lot, budget, and timeline.

Request Your Online Consultation

Many New Era Homes customers start the process from outside Central Oregon. You may be in Portland or Seattle, planning a move around work and weekends. You may be farther away, looking at land online before you’ve had a chance to see it in person.

An online consultation gives you a place to start. You don’t need to own land, choose a floor plan, or have every number worked out. Bring what you know so far, and we can talk through your goals, your budget, your timing, and what building here may involve.

What Happens on Your Online Consultation

This is a conversation, not a sales presentation. You don’t need to have every detail figured out. Bring your questions, and we’ll help you understand your options and what comes next.

  1. Your move and your timing. We’ll start with where you’re moving from and when you want to be here. Permitting and financing can take the first one to three months, so your timing helps shape the rest of the plan.
  2. Where you are with your land. You may already own a lot, have one under contract, or still be looking. New Era Homes offers a no-cost property evaluation to check zoning, setbacks, septic, utilities, access, and other conditions that could affect the build.
  3. The floorplans you like. Bring two or three that stand out to you. We can talk through how they may fit your lot and what changes you may want to make.
  4. Your budget. We’ll explain what the per-square-foot price includes, what site work may add, how Heritage and Premier differ, and which features are already included as standard.
  5. Your next steps. We’ll finish with a clear discussion of what makes sense from here, based on your land, timing, budget, and goals.

What You Leave With

The call should end with more than a good impression. Four things in particular:

  • A realistic range for your project, with the house and the lot costs separated instead of blended into one number.
  • A shorter list of floor plans, narrowed to the ones that suit your lot, your household, and the way you actually want to live.
  • A straight read on your property, or on the one you’re still thinking about.
  • A clear next step, so the project doesn’t stall while everyone waits on someone else.

You Don’t Need to Have It All Figured Out

People put this conversation off because they think they’re too early for it. Usually they’re not. Early advice is valuable because nothing’s been bought yet and every option is still open.

If This Sounds Like You
What the Call Can Cover
“I’m just starting to look. I don’t have a lot yet.”
What to look for in a Central Oregon lot, which areas fit the home you have in mind, and what to check before making an offer.
“There’s one property I keep going back to.”
A no-cost property evaluation of that parcel, covering zoning, setbacks, septic, utilities, and access.
“I own the land. I don’t have a plan.”
Which floor plans fit your lot’s shape, slope, views, and buildable area.
“I love a plan, but I don’t know the real numbers.”
What the price covers, what site development adds, and where Heritage and Premier differ.
“I’m still deciding whether to build or buy.”
How the two paths compare once land, site work, and finishes are counted on both sides.
“I have to be moved in by a certain date.”
Whether the timeline works backward from your move date, and what has to happen first.

Building Here While You Live Somewhere Else

Building a home from a few hundred miles away can feel like a lot to manage. You want to know what’s happening, what decisions are coming up, and whether you can trust the builder to keep things moving when you can’t be there in person.

New Era Homes helps with that before you even buy land. A no-cost property evaluation can identify issues with zoning, setbacks, septic, utilities, access, and other conditions that may affect what you can build. Once construction starts, schedules, photos, messages, documents, and change orders are available through online construction management software. Most updates happen daily, so you can follow the build without being on-site.

New Era Homes also coordinates permitting, septic installation, well drilling, and site development before construction begins. A typical project runs about eight to eleven months from planning through completion, although timing varies by project.

“Building a home in Central Oregon while residing in the Midwest was a difficult decision. I had trust issues regarding the quality of workmanship that could occur knowing I was not able to visit the construction site. . . . The schedule showed me 2-4 weeks of planned tasks that would be checked off when completed, as well as uploaded photos, documenting the progress. . . . I assure you, this is THE company you want for your home.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to own land before I request a consultation?

No. In many cases, it helps to talk with New Era Homes before you buy. A no-cost property evaluation can identify issues with zoning, setbacks, septic, utilities, access, and other conditions that may affect the build. The pricing and process overview also explains how lot costs are handled separately from the price of the home.

What should I have ready before the call?

You don’t need much. Bring two or three floor plans you like, a rough budget, and your target move date. If you’re looking at a specific lot, an address or parcel number is helpful. If you’re still comparing plans, the floor plan selection guide can help you narrow them down.

What if I’m still deciding between building and buying?

That’s fine. The consultation can help you compare both options without pushing you in either direction. Land, site work, finishes, repairs, and other costs can change the full picture. Our guide on whether it’s cheaper to build or buy explains what to consider.

Do you build outside of Bend?

Yes. New Era Homes builds across Central Oregon, including Redmond, Sisters, Prineville, Madras, and La Pine. If you’re still deciding where to build, we can talk through that on the call.

What happens after the consultation?

You’ll leave with a clear next step and an idea of the timing. Some buyers move into a property evaluation right away. Others keep comparing plans or land and come back later. Nothing moves forward until you’re ready.

Talk It Through Before You Make the Trip

You’ll probably want to visit Bend, walk the lot, meet the team, and see a finished home in person. But you don’t need to do that first. Start with an online consultation so you can get a clearer sense of your floor plan, budget, land, and next steps before you make the trip.
